In Southampton, New York, Rangr Studio has designed a unique home in the style of a modern cabin on the top of a secluded hill. With three long cantilevered volumes (planned for a family of five, with two master suites and three additional bedrooms), the house gives the impression of being suspended in the trees and offers a commanding view of the forest. Both the interior and exterior are finished in cedar, creating a warm and welcoming feel. The Great Room looks out onto the deck and pool, whose infinity edge gives the illusion that it spills into the woods beyond.
At the end of one of the cantilevered spaces, the architects have included a large covered deck that enhances the feeling of being in a tree house. This veranda is warmed by a Paxfocus wall fireplace.
