Located on a hill near Porto in Portugal, Cabo de Vila is a home that is out of the ordinary. Designed by the Portuguese architecture studio Spaceworkers, this unconventional contemporary house has concave sides with glass walls. The interior reflects the lifestyle of its owners, with all the living spaces arranged around a central courtyard. No walls separate the main living space; the geometrical shape creates the different areas, giving rise to a fluid open space with moveable partitions to create private rooms. The studio chose a suspended, pivoting Bathyscafocus as the central feature in the main area of this futurist space. The use of materials such as concrete, glass and wood gives Cabo de Vila a feeling of both gravity and lightness. With its glass walls and organic shape, the house is in perpetual connection with its environment.
