A tribute to art in Australia
This 19th-century building was originally a theatre for the performing arts. Over time, it was used for a variety of other activities, each progressively less artistic ... a cinema, a furniture store, a covered market and, finally, a dog food factory.
Marked for demolition in the coming months to make way for a building complex, Oblica asked for authorisation to pay tribute to this place through an evocative ephemeral exhibition (photo: Gavin Green).
Before its disappearance, for several hours the building was reconnected to its artistic past.
